In 2019, we saw the death of the plastic straw at a global scale. But there’s more to the plastic problem than just straws. As our oceans fill with plastic and our consumption of plastic is brought to light, we saw a need to take a stand and execute a #plasticfree trend campaign.
Partnering with brands like Well Earth Goods, a family-owned and operated online marketplace that offers a curated selection of zero-waste products that make it easy to swap your plastic item for a plastic free version.
Climate solutions in place, we launched a two-month #plasticfree campaign to kick off 2020, introducing the trend and Well Earth Goods to our top national consumer lifestyle, wellness, beauty and sustainable/green media. In addition, we seeded the brand’s bestsellers with five macro and rising influencers who shared Well Earth Goods products and information with their sizable communities, adding third party validation and increasing brand reach. In just 60-days, we secured interest from 20+ media in product samples and secured eight articles and round-ups highlighting plastic-free alternatives. Press hits included Brit + Co, Byrdie, Cool Hunting, The Skimm and Treehugger, plus expected hits in Women’s Health and Rachael Ray magazine.
