Activating a six-week campaign to build upon Ridwell’s recent local media successes by utilizing timely opportunities like holiday waste solutions and changes to recycling regulations, we leveraged our strong relationships with Seattle reporters to secure seven media hits featuring Ridwell, with a reach of over 2M impressions.
Notably, this campaign took place during the holidays, a time when media is often overbooked and understaffed, so we connected with local broadcast stations to do the heavy lifting, bringing a fully-packaged feel-good holiday story to their inboxes. We rode along with Ridwell during their annual holiday toy pickup to support local homeless and foster youth, capturing compelling images and videos and securing approved quotes from those involved. When shared with key broadcast contacts, our efforts landed a featured “High-Five” mention during KING 5’s evening programming.
Additionally, recognizing the potential for Ridwell to collaborate with local officials and pursue a more wide-scale pickup of their mission and message, we connected the company’s founder with Seattle’s Governor Jay Inslee, securing interest from his office in activating an Earth Day media program with Ridwell at the forefront.
