Best Mocktails and Cocktails for Summer

Nothing says summer quite like a refreshing drink. Whether you’re into cocktails or mocktails, the Rev team has gathered our favorite recipes and we can’t wait to share. From sitting poolside, laying on the sand at the beach to hanging around the fire with friends, these are the best mocktails and cocktails for summer.

Paloma Mocktail: A mocktail that never fails to impress or refresh! To make this a cocktail, add 1.5 oz of your favorite tequila.

2 oz grapefruit juice

1 oz fresh lime juice

0.5 – 1 oz maple syrup (or agave, honey - your choice!)

Sparkling water

Ice

Sliced limes and grapefruit, for serving

Gin and Tonic: A simple classic that always hits the spot. To make this a mocktail, use non-alcoholic gin like Amass Riverine!

2 oz gin

4 oz tonic water

1 oz fresh lime juice

Garnish with a lime slice

Vida Mate Mocktail: With the variety of flavors that Vida Mate provides, you can make this mocktail many different ways. From Blackberry Lemonade to Mango Lime, there’s a flavor for whatever you’re in the mood for.

6-8 oz Vida Mate

0-2 oz sparkling water

Juice of an orange slice

Juice of a lime slice

Serve it in a wine glass (presentation is key.)

Whiskey Sour: This may not be everyone’s cup of tea but don’t knock it ‘til you try it! Whiskey sours highlight many different flavors and when they’re ice cold, they’re a perfect summer drink.

2 oz of bourbon

¾ - 1 oz of sour mix (lemon juice works as well.)

1 oz simple syrup

1 egg white (~ ½ oz) (optional but it adds a great froth!)

Add egg white to a shaker and shake. Then fill the shaker with ice, bourbon, simple syrup and sour mix. Shake well. Strain into a chilled glass over fresh ice and enjoy!

Aperol Spritz: This may be the poster child for a refreshing summer drink. The bright orange color and crisp citrus flavor makes it a world-wide favorite.

Classic Recipe:

3 oz Aperol

3 oz Prosecco

1-2 oz sparkling water

Orange slice for garnish

Without alcohol: You can also use non-alcoholic aperol and prosecco if you’d like!

3 oz orange juice; without pulp

2 oz grapefruit juice; 100% juice

1 oz cherry juice; 100% juice

2 ounces mineral water

Mojito Mocktail: The combination of mint and lime is a match made in heaven! Sipping on this after a long day in the sun is something everyone should experience.

Handful of mint leaves (5-10)

1.5 oz lime juice

1 oz simple syrup

Club  soda or parkling water

Ice

Lime slice

Muddle the mint leaves in a shaker before adding the ice, lime juice and simple syrup. Shake well and pour into a glass with fresh ice and top with sparkling water and a lime slice. (Follow these same instructions when using alcohol, add the rum when you add the lime juice and simple syrup.)
