Meet Nicole, Our 2022 Intern!

Tell us a little about yourself:

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii but now reside in Seattle, Washington. I wanted a change of scenery and have loved everything about Seattle since I got here. I graduated from Seattle University in June 2021 with a B.A. in Strategic Communications along with a double minor in Spanish and Japanese. When I have moments to myself, I love reading, exercising, traveling, and spending quality time with my dog, Pancake.

There are a lot of PR agencies out there, why did you pick Revolution?

Revolution immediately stood out to me because of its mission of sustainability. Engaging in sustainable practices is an important aspect of my life that I strive to pursue in my career as well. I wanted to surround myself with others who have similar passions because I believe that great things can happen when like-minded individuals come together.

What attracted you to pursue PR as a career?

I’ve always considered myself a creative person, but I wanted to pursue a field that played to my organizational and detail-oriented skills. I also knew that I wanted to work with social media, so PR seemed like the perfect fit for me.

We’re an agency of self-proclaimed wellness junkies! What is your favorite trend in the wellness space right now?

I love how conversations about mental health and well-being are becoming more normalized. It was not too long ago that topics around mental health felt really taboo and were not made a priority. Now there are many more resources and media discussing the importance of mental health and what we can do to take care of ourselves in that way. It’s also great to see that many companies are beginning to view mental health concerns with equal importance to physical health concerns in regards to taking a step away from work as needed.

Is there a workout that you’re loving right now?

In the past few months or so, I started working out with a focus on building muscle and getting stronger, and it's done wonders for my mental health. I love any body-building workouts, but lately, my favorite days at the gym are any time I get to do back or bicep targeted exercises.

One of our biggest motivators when it comes to exercise is being able to sport cute activewear! Is there a specific item that you’re particularly obsessed with these days?

I don’t currently have a favorite activewear brand or line, but I LOVE any leggings with pockets and / or fleece-lined leggings. They’re a game-changer and keep me extra cozy in the colder weather.

If you had to choose one thing that you are most passionate about, what would it be and why?

I’m very passionate about the idea of investing in yourself and personal development. The impact that a focus on personal development has had on my life is profound, especially in regards to my mental health. It’s allowed me to grow so much both in my personal and professional life. I believe that focusing on caring and nurturing ourselves is one of the most important decisions we can make in our lives, but it is one that we often neglect.
