Meet Courtney!

We're so excited to have Courtney join our team as an Account Coordinator! Learn a little more about her in the interview below.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a Strategic Communications graduate from Washington State University, go Cougs! I have lived in Washington State for six years. I am originally from Kansas. I love to go wine tasting in Woodinville, eat just about anything with chocolate and partake in ALL the pasta. I just recently adopted a Corgi puppy named Nora, who I love to take to the park on weekends. I also must confess that I started her an Instagram account and she often gets more likes on her pictures than I do.

There are a lot of PR agencies out there, why did you pick Revolution?
I was initially attracted to Revolution because of the clients they represented. I could tell they only took on clients that they truly believed in, which is something I really value. When I had my interview and got the chance to meet the team, I knew immediately that they were an incredibly smart and dedicated group of women who I had a lot to learn from!

What attracted you to pursue PR as a career?
I chose to pursue PR as career when I was interning at KING 5. I had the opportunity to meet many different people and business owners and I always felt the most fulfilled when I was able to help them in some way. Whether it was writing a story, managing social media accounts or creating videos, I enjoyed being able to convey a message to the community. I soon learned that a huge part of PR is having the ability to help grow and nurture a business and its people.

We’re an agency of self-proclaimed wellness junkies! What is your favorite trend in the wellness space right now?
I would honestly have to say that practicing self-care and mindfulness are my favorite wellness trends right now. I feel like for the first time in a long time, people are finding value in slowing down and creating time to nourish their body and mind. Whether it’s yoga, running, taking a bath or reading a book, it’s important to put your health (mental and physical) first.

Is there a workout that you’re loving right now?
I tried SoulCycle for the first time last week, and while I absolutely LOVED the high intensity work out I got (at 6am I might add), it kept me sore for almost a full WEEK! I am usually a hot yoga girl, but wanted to give something new a try. Needless to say, I’m obsessed with the intensity of SoulCycle and plan to continue attending classes!

One of our biggest motivations when it comes to exercise is being able to sport cute activewear! Is there a specific item that you’re particularly obsessed with these days?
One of the Christmas gifts I got myself this year was a mauve zip-up jacket from Lululemon. I had been eyeing it for weeks while Christmas shopping for other people, so I finally splurged and bought it for myself! I love it because it has multiple pockets where I can put my phone, keys and other items in while running! Plus it does a great job of keeping me dry and warm during Seattle’s rainy days.

If you had to choose one thing that you are most passionate about, what would it be and why?
This is a tough one to answer. But I would have to say I am most passionate about creating and sustaining happiness. I am a firm believer in unapologetically doing what makes you happy. It’s easy to fall into the rut of doing “what you think you should be doing” or following someone else’s path. Whether you’re in a career that doesn’t make you happy, or a relationship that isn’t serving you anymore, life is incredibly too short to not wake up everyday with a heart full of happiness and gratitude. Always remember your cup has to be full in order to pour into others.
