How Business Cards Impact Your Brand

Business cards are a key marketing tool for any brand. They’re a professional representation of who you are, and with a little thoughtful design, they can leave a lasting impression on the people who receive them. Typically, business cards are forgettable because they’re sterile, plain and boring. We know there are certain industries where it might be hard to deviate from the standard, but if you work in a more creative industry, consider a fun, memorable design twist! Take a look at these business cards from Web Designer Wall for a few inspired ideas.

  • First and foremost, make sure all of your relevant information is present on the card, such as name, address, phone number, website, email address, etc. If you are short on space, nix the address.
  • Don’t add extra info that isn’t immediately relevant for getting in contact with you. If the recipient wants more information, they’ll ask in a follow up.
  • Be sure the text is readable. As a general rule, don’t go any smaller than 8pt font. Don’t be tempted to shrink the text to fit more.
  • Decide if you are going to go bright or black and white. Either one can be done beautifully.
  • If you have company colors, use them!
  • Have a “safe area” on your card design for the printer – this is an area where the printer doesn’t run the risk of chopping off any of your information:
