Our Top Media Picks

As PR professionals, reading media is an incredibly important part of our job. Whether it’s a style magazine, a daily newspaper, or a food blog, they’re all a wealth of information and inspiration on trends and industry happenings that influence our client work. For this week’s blog entry, we finally asked the team, “What are your favorite media outlets to read?” and received great answers! Untitled design I always try to at least read the New York Times on Sunday for everything, especially food trends. Florence Fabricant is a favorite. And Red Tricycle for all things kids and parenting. – Angie I've been doing a lot of design/architectural reading on Apartment Therapy and Green Builder Magazine. I also like Goop and Eater for keeping  up with lifestyle trends– Corinne For design-related topics my top choices are: Brand New (smart, critical reviews of brandings projects), Design Observer (critical essays on design) and Digiday (insider news on cutting-edge digital campaigns and trends). – Aaron I love the New York Times, they recently launched weekly newsletters and it’s my new favorite! I also read (and love) Vogue, Seattle Times, Cup of Jo, Sunset Magazine, 425 Magazine and the Puget Sound Business Journal. The list is endless – Jennifer For fast news I use my Twitter and follow media outlets that range from CNN to KING 5, to SELF Magazine. I also like to check up on Refinery29, Seattle Refined, Ad Age, and Mashable for industry happenings. – Brenna Right now, I’m loving long-form stories about different cultures, issues and people and from publications like VICE, The Atlantic and The New York Times. And it’s not the most sophisticated, but I think BuzzFeed does the best job at keeping me informed on pop culture and consumer trends super quickly. - Shauna Who are your top media picks?
