And bonus – admission is free! Museum of Flight Memorial Day Ceremony This military celebration includes a performance by the Boeing Employee Band and a ceremony featuring Vietnam Veteran and former POW, Major Joseph Crecca. Are you a space enthusiast? After the celebration head into the museum for a peek at their collection of more than 150 historic air and spacecraft artifacts. Seattle International Film Festival Catch the second weekend of Seattle’s biggest film festival! Tank Fest Northwest This annual family-friendly event is the perfect place for kiddos to ooh and ahh at military tanks and vehicles and see driving demonstrations. Also enjoy remote control tanks, food and more! Memorial Day Steam Train Rides If you are planning to be up north for Memorial Day weekend, give this a whirl!  The Northwest Railway Museum is honoring service men and women with a special weekend of train rides. The 75-minute trip takes you through Snoqualmie and up into the beautiful Cascade foothills. Memorial Day at the Museum The Children’s Museum will be specially opened on Memorial Day! Take your littles to enjoy fun, kid-friendly crafts like paper poppies, patriotic collages and flag windsocks. (If the weather doesn't cooperate, this is our weekend pick!) You’ll look forward to a finish line celebration filled with photo ops, neon lights, lasers and more. Ski to Sea It’s too late to sign up (and train!) for the Ski to Sea race, but that doesn’t mean you can’t participate in the festivities! There will be plenty of fun for non-racers and fan clubs with a community block party on Friday and the annual Ski to Sea Blossomtime Parade on Saturday. Memorial Day Weekend Run Get the whole family in on the race action with a 5K, 10K or 15K walk/run at Magnuson Park. There is also a 400 meter kid’s dash for the little ones. Bonus – the race raises money for Earth Runs, a nonprofit that uses the money to plant trees around the city. For the day-tripper: Brinnon Shrimp Fest Celebrate shrimp and local seafood at this Hood Canal festival. The event features craft and food booths, belt sander races, exhibits, live music, kid activities and more! Kitsap Harbor Festival The Harbor Festival is a relaxing event on the boardwalk including 50 booths chock-full of art and food. This year’s event will feature tours of Bremerton’s historic vessels as well as a performance by the Navy Band. The Juan De Fuca Festival Are you looking for an event with everything from artisan food booths to yoga lessons? If so, head over to Port Angeles for the Juan De Fuca Festival. With 80 musical performances, a kids theater, street fair and more the festival has fun for all ages and tastes. Moses Lake Spring Festival Parades, food and 3-on-3 basketball. Take the family (or friends!) to Moses Lake to ring in summer with tons of festivities. Chateau Ste. Michelle Staycation One of Seattle’s top vineyards is celebrating their 5th annual Memorial Day event with an exotic car show and release of their spring wines.
