Assistant Account Executive to Account Executive Job Description
An Assistant Account Executive/Account Executive services multiple accounts, handling core public relations tasks ranging from building media relationships to conducting industry research to writing and developing client updates and drafting media materials.  In this position, employees demonstrate strong communication and time management skills, show initiative and an ability to consistently manage deadlines.  They learn the business of the agency, its clients and its internal processes and procedures.  In this role, you will provide overall organizational and account management support to account teams.  Assistant Account Executives/Account Executives are resourceful task managers who are counted on for tactical program execution for our clients.   Key Qualifications -       Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal -       Confident style in communicating -       Strong research and critical thinking skills -       Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple responsibilities -       Exhibit independence and autonomy with respect to responsibilities -       Ability to obtain a deep understanding of the clients, accounts and industry -       Ability to work well within a team when other members are both present and remote -       Understanding and experience using social media -       Experience writing communications-related materials, such as press releases, facts sheets, blog entries and social media posts -       Transfer research to useful databases, including awards grids, media lists and coverage tracking -       Positive, professional, and flexible attitude -       Confident using Microsoft Office suite programs, including Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint -       Has a strong interest in following industry and cultural trends -       Familiarity with local and national media outlets -       Interest in consumer lifestyle PR/clients -       Bonus but not required: Experience using Adobe’s creative suite   Work Experience -       Must have a minimum 1 year of public relations experience at an agency -       Bachelor’s required, preferably in communications, journalism or other related PR discipline   Primary Responsibilities -          Plan and execute client activities in a timely, efficient and high-quality manner under the direction of an AE, SAE or high-level supervisor -          Develop and edit written materials including fact sheets, new business materials, blog entries and social media posts -          Support media list development -          Conduct client, industry and campaign-relevant research efficiently -          Track media relations efforts through coverage searching -          Begin understanding clients' top-tier media and indentifying key trade and business reporters -          Support the coordination and planning of client events and press/analyst tours -          Participate in client meetings, support development of agendas & recaps -          Provide timely and in-depth analysis of trends -          Manage time and juggle multiple account deadlines -          Participate in new business process including research and proposal preparation -          Be a peer resource -          Proactively contribute ideas for clients and agency new business efforts based on emerging PR trends, news reading or past experience
