We’re excited to welcome Kate to our team as our wonderful fall intern! Learn a little more about her in the interview below.
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a senior at the University of Washington majoring in Communications and Sales. I grew up in the Bay Area, but I have quickly become a Seattleite over the past two years. On campus, I try to take every opportunity that comes my way to get involved. A few groups that I am a member of include the student senate, the PR club and Alpha Delta Pi sorority. I also love traveling and spent three months last spring in Barcelona, where I had the chance to explore the vibrant streets, eat lots of tapas, and brush up my high school Spanish skills.
There are a lot of PR agencies out there, why did you pick Revolution?
As a first impression, the colorful aesthetic of the Revolution website really caught my eye. Once I saw the different brands they work with in wellness, I knew I wanted to work here. I also love that Revolution is driven by passion and incorporating doing what you love into your work.
What attracted you to pursue PR as a career?
I have always been interested in social media and writing and I think PR is the perfect career for me to express these passions and to create meaningful content.
We’re an agency of self-proclaimed wellness junkies! What is your favorite trend in the wellness space right now?
Lately I’ve been super into skin care and using sunscreen. Being from California I have always been pretty good about using it in the summer, but now I try to wear it on my face every day.
Is there a workout that you’re loving right now?
Call me basic, but I love running on the treadmill. I ran track my whole life so it has always been my go to work out!
One of our biggest motivations when it comes to exercise is being able to sport cute active wear! Is there a specific item that you’re particularly obsessed with these days?
I just recently learned about The Girlfriend Collective, an eco-friendly active wear company based in Seattle. I love their legging and top sets. I also love that they are environmentally conscious when creating their products 🙂
If you had to choose one thing that you are most passionate about, what would it be and why?
I have so many passions. This is a tough one, but at the end of the day I’d have to say traveling. Whether this means going out and exploring a new neighborhood in Seattle or visiting eight different countries in three months. I love discovering new places and meeting new people. I am very extroverted so even when travel might be tiring, it’s definitely worth the experience!
