Say Hello to Sarah!

We're so excited to have Sarah join our team as an Account Coordinator. She handles both public relations and social media strategy for a handful of clients. Get to know her in the interview below.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I grew up in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and studied Communications at Boise State University. I’ve always had an interest in working with natural food and beverage brands, so I was thrilled to land my first professional position out of college with USA Pulses – the national commodity group for lentils, chickpeas, beans and dried peas. It was in this role that I realized my passion truly lies in storytelling and strategy, which led me to accept a position at a boutique PR agency - and make the move to Seattle!

What attracted you to Revolution PR?
I knew from my prior public relations experience that it was important to me to work with clients I personally believe in and endorse. I was thrilled to see that Revolution PR has worked with several favorite brands of mine, and several brands that I was excited to learn about. I could tell immediately upon meeting the team at Revolution that they were passionate about their client base, and the close-knit, supportive and collaborative nature of the agency really shined through.

What is an aspect of PR that you love?
Personally, I love storytelling. I love the challenge of taking a known quantity and re-framing it in ways that generate new excitement and buzz. I love the opportunity to dip my toes into different industries and fields of expertise that I otherwise wouldn’t cross paths with.

Tell us about one of your favorite PR campaigns  - it can be one you worked on or just observed.
I’ve always thought the PR campaign behind kale was great – take a product that doesn’t technically have anything setting it apart from the other foods in its family (sorry kale, I still love you though) and somehow garner enough attention that Beyonce is endorsing it? Genius. That’s what I love about PR: you have the ability to give brands new life and re-position them as leaders within their industries.

We’re an agency of wellness junkies! What is your favorite trend in the wellness space right now?
I’m loving the current push toward plant-based proteins! As someone who has traditionally tried to limit her meat intake (for both ethical and health-related reasons), I’ve loved seeing some of my favorite plant-based foods and products get their time in the spotlight.

What do you like to do with your spare time?
I’m a foodie at heart, and can often be found testing new recipes or trying new and acclaimed Seattle restaurants. I can usually be found working my way through the hundreds (I wish I was joking) of podcasts I have queued up, exploring nearby neighborhoods, taking on new creative projects, or curled up with a good book and my cats (and contemplating the true meaning of “cat lady”…).
