Meet Sarah!

meet sarah Sarah joined our team in February as an Account Executive. She handles both public relations and social media strategy for a handful of clients. Get to know her in the interview below. Tell us a little about yourself. I was born and raised in New Orleans, where I graduated from Loyola University with a degree in Marketing in 2014. I started my career at a local agency, where I worked with a variety of clients in both a public relations and a social media capacity. In 2016, I moved to Seattle for a little (giant, actually) adventure and joined Revolution not long after. There are a lot of PR agencies out there, why did you pick Revolution? I picked Revolution because everyone I spoke with throughout the interview process was genuinely excited about the work they were doing and the clients they were working with at the time. For me, there is nothing more important than a positive work environment and every member of the Revolution team brings a level of excitement into the office each day. The client base was also a major draw for me. One of my favorites, Bissinger’s, is an incredible chocolate company that I wasn’t introduced to until joining the Revolution team. I think it’s safe to say that I have eaten more chocolate in the last few months than ever before. What is your #1 tip for a successful PR career? Make connections. As someone who moved to a new city (knowing not a single person) in search of a job, it’s difficult to navigate the professional world without contacts. Take advantage of networking opportunities, internships and even conversations with the guy behind you in line at Starbucks. You never know where they will lead. What is an aspect of PR that you love? I love the challenge of breaking through the clutter. We live in a world where people are digesting news so quickly and through such different platforms than just a few years ago. The PR landscape is changing so vastly, that being able to think creatively and present information in a compelling way is more important than ever. It’s a never-ending learning experience and exciting to be a part of. What do you like to do with your spare time? Being from New Orleans, exploring local restaurants has always been something I enjoy. Now that I’m in a new city and all the restaurants are new to me, I have a never-ending list of places to try! I’m a major football fan (go Saints!) and love spending time in the kitchen. On Sundays, you can find me at home watching football and trying out recipes for new game day snacks. Since moving to Seattle, I’ve also developed a love for hiking and cannot get enough of the beautiful mountains!
